FOTD & OOTD #13 - Casual University Interview Outfit - 16/09/14

Hello everyone! Today I'm back with a little FOTD & OOTD. I was trying to think of a catchy title for this post but then I realised this was when I went to an interview at Uni so maybe if you have an interview coming up (this was a more casual than formal interview) then this might help you for an outfit! I know myself when I've had interviews in the past, your outfit and appearance is really important for first impressions and it puts forward an impression of you as a person overall; obviously your personality and skills etc are major and extremely important, but you gotta dress to impress d00d.

Make-up:

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr in 35 On and on Bronze
Topshop Kohl Eyeliner in Sable
Lancôme Définicils Mascara
Mac Lipstick in Peach Blossom

I forgot how much I loved my duo of Painterly and On and on Bronze, it's so easy to apply and lasts all day for me! I've also rediscovered my love for my Topshop eyeliner in Sable, it was my first brown eyeliner and my love for them has grown tremendously since then.

I'm actually writing a blog post about how I did my hair in these photos so all I'm going to say is that it was extremely dirty (TMI) and I used a lot of dry shampoo to get it looking reasonable! My hair was put in a plait over night when it was dry, the night before when it was wet so it had that natural curl/messy look. For my fringe/hair at the front, I just simply put them both in a plait and used curby grips to secure those bits at the back of my head!

Outfit:

Necklace - Forever 21
Dress - Boohoo
Jacket - All Saints
Shoes - Converse

I personally really love this dress, it's so comfy to wear as it's a smock dress so it isn't tight/super short and is quite flowy which is nice. The long sleeves are a personal favourite of mine, as I think I've said before but I'm quite self-conscious about my arms so I always feel better when they are covered. In general, I love the colour shade grey, it's my comfort colour and when the seasons change, darker colours are in and I'm gonna love it! Grey, black, burgundy, greens, navy.. I'm all over that! Also, dat necklace - it adds a bit of girlyness to it all but is still black and therefore can go with most things.

The interview by the way was about a research experiment that I'm going to be taking part in, which is extremely exciting! I'm getting trained next week on how to use an eye tracker and how to conduct an experiment by myself so it's great that I'm getting this experience now to help for next year and it'll look good on my CV also.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this post! What is your go to interview outfit?

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

FOTD & OOTD #11 - Neutral Clash - 06/09/14

Okay before I even start SPOILERS please ignore my eyebrows. Just ignore them. I didn't realise they were a train wreck, as I don't fill mine in or brush them (is that the right word, brush? Do people brush their eyebrows?) so usually I just let them do their thing but they are OUT OF CONTROL. So yeah, sorry and please continue.

Hello everyone! I feel like most of my FOTD's are very much the same.. Maybe from now on I'll only start doing them when I'm actually wearing make-up that looks different to what I wear most days and just do OOTD's by themselves.. Would you prefer that? Let me know!

I kept the two photos above in only because of how cool my eyes looked, I just love the different colours and how they fade into other colours.. Yeah. Anyway.

Make-up:

Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette
Beauty People Snow White Special Edition Season 2 Eyeliner Set in Glimmer Brown and Glimmer Bronze
Lancome Définicils Mascara
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in 027 Juicy Papaya

I've been getting right into the Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette again, I completely forgot how beautiful the eyeshadows are and how brightening they are; I know that's a weird thing to think but it's true, they just make my eyes look so bright and fresh! I've also gotten back into the Revlon Juicy Papaya Lip Butter (unfortunately not on this exact day as you will see below) but I've been reaching for it more recently.

However, for some reason I didn't really like the Revlon lip butter with what I was wearing, to me it looked just a tad too bright for the look I was going for. I thought a pinkish nude would look much better therefore I switched to Mac's Peach Blossom which I wore for the rest of the day, as shown above.

The blue tinge is awful in the above photos, I apologise! I just wanted to show you all how gorgeous the detailing and patterns are on the dress.

Outfit:

Jacket - All Saints
Dress - Forever 21
Shoes - Mel
Bag - Prada

Apologies for the creased dress, it's been squished in my wardrobe for way too long! There were blue skies outside with little clouds in the sky and I thought, this may be the last chance this year to whip this bad boy out.. So I did it! I absolutely love this white dress, and I paired it with my trusty leather jacket for when it got colder in the evening. I also threw in some baby pink jelly sandals from Mel that I got years ago in Brazil and a little baby pink Prada bag that my Dad got me! :)

That's about it for this post guys, hope you enjoyed reading it as per. I'm actually writing this on the 7th and it's currently 01.07 and my alarm is set for less than 7 hours away to go to the gym. Ugh, the thought of it is giving me a sore head!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Wild Watermelon & Flowers - FOTD & OOTD #6 - 28/07/14

Hello everyone! Today I'm back to give you another FOTD & OOTD. I love both writing and reading these posts, I love looking at what people wear and what make-up they have on and how it differs day to day -  (I hope that doesn't sound weird, I'm just very curious and a little bit nosey  it's just nice to see what products people use and what clothes they wear depending on their style, I always seem to end up wanting something though.. Which isn't good!

ANYWAY.. Last Friday was the day of the Commonwealth Games, and I went to see the 62kg Mens Final in Weightlifting! Now, you are probably all wondering how the day went etc.. But.. That's for another blogpost. Lets just say things were slightly traumatic, very rushed, and very eventful.. But more importantly, here is what my face and outfit looked like last Friday!

List of make-up used:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Sin, Naked & Toasted
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude (05)
Lancome Définicils Mascara
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

I decided to go for a more dramatic eye look, just.. Well, just because I only very recently got my Naked palette and I hadn't tried out Toasted yet, and it. is. BEAUTIFUL. It just gives the most beautiful.. Kinda faded burgundy taupey bronzy shade? Maybe the lipstick made it seem more burgundy but it is beautiful on and it is slowly becoming my everyday eye look. Well. I've wore it twice. That's good enough, right?

Also, I do have quite a lot of the Revlon Lip Butters, and I have to say that Wild Watermelon is definitely up there being my favourite. It looks kinda pinky in the pictures, but it real life it is a lovely shade of red. I feel like if you are starting out and want to try a red lipstick but you are a bit too nervous in case it's full on/not your colour, this would be perfect. The great thing with the Lip Butters is that you can either put them on super sheer, put on a normal wash of colour or make it full on - this is it pretty full on, however when it is just sheer it is so flattering, and not too dramatic!

Outfit:

Top from Topshop
Skirt from Forever 21 (can't find it online, sorry!)
Shoes from Topshop (years old, sorry!)
Bag from Dolce & Gabbana (their website won't open for me to get in and find it, think it's blocked in Azerbaijan..)

I got this skirt when I was on holiday and I am in love with it! It's so bright and colourful and super flattering as it comes in at the waist and then fans out a bit at the legs. Even though it is a little short on me (I am nearly 6ft so it's kinda my fault, not the skirts) it still is very comfortable to wear, and easy to style! Just throw on a t-shirt or tank top, or even a jumper on top and away you go! I got the white t-shirt just because, well, I didn't have one, and it's kinda an essential thing, as a white t-shirt goes with everything! The shoes are the ones I mentioned in my last post = very worn & very loved. Finally.. My bag. All I'm saying is, what a beaut. What. A. Beaut.

So that's going to be it for this post, I hope you enjoyed reading! Be sure and stay tuned as tomorrow at 5pm comes my adventurous tale of how I got on at the Commonwealth Games on the day these photos were taken.. It was a literal emotional roller coaster. Just in general, a roller coaster. Everything was up and down. But I'll explain that tomorrow, it's 1am here (I'm on holiday, expect the start of the holiday posts soon - sorry I'm behind!) and I need to sleep.. And my wrists are sore from all the typing. oKAY GOING NOW BYE.

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

FOTD + OOTD #3 - Mint Arrows - 26/9/13

Hello everyone! I'm back with yet again, dun dun dunnnn.. Another FOTD + OOTD! Today was kind of a lazy day/going out for tea and cake with a friend so I just kinda threw this together. Also, before I start going on about what I'm wearing etc, for some weird reason at the bottom of all my pictures they get all blurry, I must have something on my lense or something and I only saw it once I uploaded my photos onto this when I was in bed.. So sorry about that!

I thought I'd shake things up a bit and actually start off with the jewellery I wore, as I hardly ever wear any and I actually remembered for once! Without realising, I ended up going for green jewellery, with my green leather strapped watch from Fossil which has a silver face and green font and my long gold necklace with two mint arrows from Forever 21. I thought since my top was pretty plain I kinda had to spice things up a bit with some jewellery and I think it worked really well; the balance was right!

Top - Topshop
Tank Top (underneath) - Marks and Spencers
Jeans - Ralph Lauren
Bag - Longcamp Le Pliage (think it's the medium size)

It was one of those days where I was staring at the wardrobe and saw nothing, even though I have way too many clothes for my own good. I decided to bring this top out, just because it was plain white and pretty easy and comfortable to wear and I wanted to actually wear jewellery for once (shock horror!)

As you can see, it's super baggy but really clingy at the sleeves, which actually start really low down, I think I deliberately bought this top a couple of sizes too big so the shoulder part is at the middle of my arm for me, it's great and super comfy that way! Saying that, it's not an uncomfortable clingy as the material is super stretchy. My jeans are also super comfy too, they don't irritate my skin and feel tight like some do, they are just nice jeans, they do their job well!

My bag is actually my old Uni bag from first year, I just randomly brought it out again. It's such a practical bag and because it's black and brown, it goes with every single outfit I wear. It's actually quite big for being size medium, so it could easily fit all my Uni stuff (or most of it, my Uni books are massive so I'm usually carrying a couple or else I get a sore shoulder) and it has a little pouch to put your phone and stuff in so you don't lose it in your bag. Also, this bag is great for travelling as it folds up into a tiny version of itself, it's awesome as I always take it on holiday with me as my bag, if you don't get what I mean then click here and you'll see!

List of make-up:

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 012 Bronze and 005 Nude
No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara in Black
Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Satin Finish in Guava Rama

As per usual I went with my standard eye and face make-up (not that I wear that much anyway) and after reviewing another Soap and Glory lipstick which you can see here I decided to bring the another one I owned out that I hadn't actually worn yet and all I'm going to say is WHY HAVE I IGNORED IT FOR THIS LONG?! A review is definitely coming soon!

So that's about it for this FOTD + OOTD, I hope you enjoyed reading it. Have you been ignoring any products recently? If you, use them, you might discover a hidden love for them that you never had before!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)
