TKMaxx Mini Haul - Maybelline, Bourjois & Revlon!

Hello everyone! Today I thought I'd talk about some products I got at TKMaxx the other week - who knew they did cheap make-up?! Not me! So there I was, just having a nosy at the clutch bags when I spotted a little stand with elf, OPI, Nails Inc and more on it! AND at a discounted price! I mean, I couldn't not get myself something, let's be real. I also got my friends some make-up for their birthdays so technically I didn't just get stuff for myself.. So it's fine. It's fine. Kinda.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - £2.99

So I spotted this bad boy for £2.99 - can we just talk about how much of a bargain this is?! I literally know nothing about this mascara, I haven't read a single review on it and I've not even opened it as I'm saving it to try once my other mascara has went dry. To be honest, for just under £3 I don't care if it'll be bad as I just bought it on a whim. Have you tried it, and if so, what did you think? I'd love to know!

Revlon Cream Blush in 09 Rosy Glow - RRP £7.99, TKMaxx £3.99

Again, I spotted this bargain and thought it looked perfect for me. I'm not really a huge fan on blush, I don't even know how to properly apply it and to be honest, it kinda freaks me out - I have very chubby cheeks and I just have this image that blush will just make them look bigger than they already are (or something like that). However, recently I have decided to give blush a go and see if I like it or not and I thought this was a very natural colour. I've never tried a cream blush before so I don't know how to use it, I'm sure a YouTube tutorial will teach me though! Also, I love that it has a little mirror - super handy for on the go!

Bourjois Jet Set Red Lip & Nail Duo - RRP £18, TKMaxx £9.99

Now THIS was something that caught my eye immediately. I also got this for a friend as I think she will love it, red lips and nails are a common love we share. I've wanted to try out some Bourjois products for a while and when I saw that I was basically getting a nail polish free with this lipstick, I was sold! The nail polish is one of their So Laque! and is called Rouge Escarpin 24 and the Lipstick is one of the Rouge Edition lipsticks in 13 Rouge Jet Set. Red lips and nails are just my default when I'm unsure on what to put on (either lips or nails) so this is perfect! I've used the lipstick once and so far I'm really liking it - it's glossy, easy to apply and very red. I'll keep using it and I'm excited to try the nail polish so I'll let you know how I get on with it soon!

Revlon Blush in 09 Rosy Glow | Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in 13 Rouge Jet Set

So that's about it for this post, hope you enjoyed ANOTHER haul - I promise that's the last haul for a while, I'm putting myself on a spending ban of make-up and stuff in general UNLESS I genuinely do need it (so if I run out of dry shampoo or something, I mean that is a life time essential product). Have you tried any of these products, did you like them? Let me know!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Collagen Boosting Lipstick in The Missing Pink - Review & Swatches!

Hello everyone! Before we start this post.. How long is the name of this lipstick?! When I was writing it out for the title I was like wait.. Is this for real?! Why is this so long?! Oh well.. Today I'm here talking about a little something I picked up a few months ago that I just thought "meh, I'll give it a go!" and now.. I absolutely love it! It's The Missing Pink by Soap & Glory.

I had never really looked at Soap and Glory's make-up until I heard Sammi from Beauty Crush mention it in her YouTube videos, especially the lipstick Pom Pom which she wears here so the next time I went into Boots, there was a 3 for 2 offer on so I had already picked 1 thing and I thought, why not get something from Soap & Glory? So after looking at their make-up range, especially their lipsticks, and after debating what one to get I ended up getting this and another shade, Guavarama, but this is by far my most worn lipstick out of the two!

The packaging on the outside, like the case, is alright I suppose. Black plastic with the name on it, pretty standard. The actual lipstick tube is a lot nicer though, with the gold plating and I especially love what S&G have done with the actual lipstick itself, by printing their logo onto the lipstick - a classy look for a drugstore make-up product, making it look high-end!

As you can see from the swatch below it comes out as a dull pink nude.. I think that's the best way to describe it anyway! It's basically a "your lips but better" colour and I know there are about 10 billion lipsticks that do this but I haven't seen anyone talk about this one and it deserves some credit!

I bought this after swatching it with the intention that if running out the door/on the bus to Uni/between classes at Uni I can just quickly put this on without a mirror and boom, lipstick done.

As you can see by my extreme pose below, on the lips it definitely is a your lips but better shade for me, it might be the perfect your lips but better shade for me actually! It gives my lips a slightly more pinkish tone but honestly, it just makes my lips look so much better in a very natural way.

When applied, it is super smooth and soft on the lips and doesn't dry them out as it has a satin finish. It has a staying power of about 3 hours before you need to reapply, which I don't mind as it doesn't leave an annoying stain around the edge of my lips like some lipsticks do when they wear away, it just fades away, so I can easily reapply it without a mirror and it's fine again.

Overall, for not doing any research on this lipstick, I really like it. It's a great everyday colour, it's got a satin finish so it's nice and smooth, it's easy to apply as you don't need a mirror and it lasts for a decent(ish) amount of time! I would definitely recommend and you can get it here for £9 (most of the time you can get it cheaper as Boots always has offers on!)

So that's about it for this post, hope you enjoyed reading this little review. Have you tried any of the Soap & Glory make-up? I haven't tried any of their skincare products yet but I really want too, I think next time I'm in Boots I'll give one a go.. Have you got any recommendations? Please let me know!

Have a lovely day and don't stop smiling. :)

Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Lipstick in 107 - Review & Swatches!

Hello everyone! Before I get onto my review, I'm actually away this weekend, I'm in York as you read this for the weekend with my family (fun fact - I'm half Yorkshire!) so the posts today, tomorrow and Sunday are all scheduled (yes I am posting 3 days in a row because I am away, you are lucky!) and I won't reply to your comments/read anyone else's posts this weekend straight away but I'll be on at some point on Sunday/Monday when I get home so I'll be commenting away and reading posts then. :)

Anyway, today I am here to talk about my favourite dark lipstick that Zoella always talks about in her videos, it's Kate Moss' lipstick line for Rimmel in the shade 107.

Rimmel claim that this lipstick is: "Sumptuously Rich Matte Colour with a sublime comfort. Ruby Powder enriched formula. Intense velvet colour all day!"

The packaging is pretty simple, red plastic case with Kate's signature in black and a Rimmel black strip around it. The lipstick tube is again just red and black, there's nothing too special about the packaging, Kate's signature is a pretty cool effect but apart from that.. It's just pretty standard, I'm not looking for anything amazing for £5.49! Also, you need to pull it for the lid to come off so I'm pretty sure it won't open itself and go everywhere in your bag, however I personally always keep my make-up in a separate compartment just in case.

I unfortunately didn't get a swatch on my hand because the photo I took was blurry and I thought you seeing it on my lips would be good enough, but in the tube it looks the exact same as it does on the lips - a dark pink raspberry colour.

On the lips this lipstick is just gorgeous. I absolutely agree with everything Rimmel claims this lipstick to be! It is matte but it is not drying at all, it is almost moisturising as when it is applied it honestly glides on like a dream, it is so easy to apply! On the lips it is so soft and smooth, exactly like velvet, no joke. This lipstick is very pigmented, you could dab it on and blend it in with your finger or a brush for a bit of colour, making it more like a stain with a little colour or just go full on like me and get this intense dark raspberry colour.

Once on the lips, it stays there for a long time! Due to it being such a dark lipstick it does kinda act like a stain as well. However, it's not invincible so if you are eating or drinking it will transfer but I think pretty much every lipstick does so it's not a big deal, plus I always take my lipstick with me when I'm going out in case I need to touch up. Saying that though.. I was out with my friends one night having a few drinks, and it lasted a solid 8 hours with me drinking and having a good laugh and it still looked good! I'm pretty sure I touched up once but to be honest, it would have been fine if I hadn't, it was probably because all my friends were doing it in the bathroom..

Overall, I am in love with this lipstick and I cannot say anything bad about it. It wears well and doesn't come off for a long time, it is super pigmented, applies smoothly. isn't drying on the lips even though it is a matte lipstick and once on the lips it genuinely feels like velvet and is so soft. I just love it. I AM IN LOVE WITH A LIPSTICK.

So.. That's about it for this post, thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy these reviews. Have you tried any of Kate Moss' lipsticks from Rimmel?

Have a lovely day and don't stop smiling. :)

FOTD - Autumn is Coming - 01/09/13

Hello everyone! I don't know why I say everyone because you are reading this and you are not everyone.. Hello *insert name here!*.. Anywaaaay..

Today's post is a FOTD, as I was going out for lunch with a friend to a semi-fancy restaurant and after being at the gym and quickly having a shower and shoving my hair in a side braid, I needed a little pick me up to make me look half decent!

Picture taken on my iPhone 5.
For this look I went really natural on the eyes, only using my base cream eyeshadows that I wear most days no matter what and winged black eyeliner. I knew I wanted to wear a bright red lip as I haven't for a while so I had to wear the classic winged black eyeliner eye with it, how could I not, it's practically tradition! Also, I always wear my trusty powder to control those oils!

Picture taken on my iPhone 5. Is it just me or does my left eye look so much smokier than my right? I swear they looked the same in the mirror - stupid lighting!

List of make-up:
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr in 35 On and On Bronze
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 012 Bronze and 005 Nude
Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara
Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 024 Red Diva
Avon Lipstick in Smitten Red

Top is from H&M.
So that's about it for this post, it was a little shorter than usual but I wasn't wearing that much make-up, however I hope you have enjoyed reading! Let me know if you want me to review any of the products I've mentioned in more detail, and if you have any requests please let me know. What do you think is a traditional look in the make-up world?

Hope you have a lovely day and don't stop smiling :)

Night Out Look #1 - Burgundy Glam - 25/08/13

Hi everyone! Long time no see, to be honest I forgot to blog due to being so busy! The last time I blogged was in April when I was just starting to study for my final University exams (which I passed with merit!!) and then I was on holiday twice this summer (to New York and Azerbaijan - will do separate blog posts of pictures soon) so now I'm back :) I don't know what my schedule will be but I know I want to blog as I honestly miss it, I still read new blogs every day and have done even though I haven't been posting, so I decided I want to post at least a couple of posts a week, I should manage that when I'm at University too, as I go back on the 23rd of September and have a couple of days off a week to catch up on my work.

Anyway, I'll do a proper catch up blog post soon, but for now I'm going to show you my make-up and outfit from a night out last week! Also, these photos were taken from my iPhone 5 so sorry they are not the best quality, will take photos from my proper camera from now on (or when I can).

As you can see I went quite dark for this night out as on a regular basis I don't wear a lot of make-up and I usually go for very subtle looks, so I thought why not? Sometimes dressing up and wearing a lot of make-up is a good thing, and this look really boosted my confidence for the night!

List of make-up:
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hr in 35 On and on Bronze
Soap & Glory Lid Stuff in What's Nude (used all 4 shades - absolutely love this palette!)
MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Heaven and Earth (only used the dark shimmery browns)
Urban Decay Palette de Fard a Paupiéres (only used Twice Baked - a dark shimmery brown)
L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 012 Bronze and 005 Nude
Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara
Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 024 Red Diva
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107

This burgundy dress (I'm a size 12 in this dress and I'm 5 ft 11 just in case you want to buy it and don't know what size you are) is from boohoo.com and I think it was £12, which is a bargain! I love this website so much and I don't have a bad thing to say about it, the clothes are lovely and they have so much choice. I paired my dress with black heels from Dorothy Perkins, and I kept the accessories to a minimal, only wearing a simple gold necklace (Forever 21) that you can see in the first two photos, as my make-up was so bold that I wanted everything else to be very subtle and simple. I also curled my hair as my dress is very tight and simple, so I thought curled hair would look better than straight hair.

I think that's everything for this blog post, I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you have any suggestions on what you want to see or if you want any reviews of the products I used to create this look then let me know. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

Natural Collection Lipstick in Crimson - Review + Swatches!

Today I am going to be reviewing the first ever lipstick I bought - Natural Collection's Crimson! It is sold in Boots for around £2, however, for some reason they just don't sell it on the website.. Weird I know. But it's an absolute bargain, and spoilers, I do not regret buying this product!

The packaging, for £2, is completely acceptable. A simple white tube, plastic, does it's job just fine.

Unfortunately this picture is a bit blurry and I never realised until now :( But you get the point, it's just a simple red bullet (well, was a bullet until I accidentally squished it into the lid..)

Ignore the other swatches, I was on a swatching roll that day! But as you can see, it comes off as a shiny bright red colour, as it is a "moisture finish" lipstick.

On the lips, it is vibrant and long lasting. I can eat a three course meal and it still looks just as red as it was before, it honestly lasts all day, and for £2, the quality and colour payoff is outstanding. I highly recommend these lipsticks if you are just starting off in the make-up world (like I was), as they are cheap and really good quality, and I am definitely thinking of going to buy more.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, what is your favourite cheap lipstick, or what was the first lipstick you ever bought? This one was mine! Have a wonderful day and I will talk to you very soon. :)

Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Tonic (422) - Review + Swatches!

Another review for you all today! I got sucked into the 3 for 2 offer at Maybelline so I ended up picking this bad boy up, and SPOILER ALERT - I love it!

First of all the packaging is lovely, I love how the colour changes for each colour of lipstick, so for a pink lipstick the lid would be pink but because this is more of a coral/red colour, the lid is red, which I love, it gives each lipstick a more unique packaging.

I am totally in love with this simple classical silver tube, with the square base; it makes storage a lot easier. It also just looks super pretty and it's easy to throw in your bag, without the worry of it opening and getting ruined.

On the lips it is a coral/red colour, it is super bright which I love and the colour pay off is incredible. The consistency is good and it is not sticky on the lips.. And it smells EXACTLY LIKE PLAYDO! I absolutely love the smell of playdo (I sound so weird right now) so if you don't like the scent of playdo then this isn't for you, but when it is on your lips the smell disappears. It stays on well, although you will have to bring it along with you if you are going out because it will wear off throughout the day, and I like my lipstick to be quite vibrant all day so I definitely need touch ups every now and then, which I don't mind; the pros outweigh the cons with this product!

Overall I am very happy with this product, I will be going back to Superdrug to purchase some other colours, I think there is a 2 for £10 deal on at the moment.. Tempting!! I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk to you very soon.

Revlon's ColorBurst Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake - Review and Swatches!

After hearing all the hype about the Revlon's Lip Butters, I decided to try one out myself, Whilst in Superdrug, I could not quite pick which colour I would think would suit me best. I tried to stay clear of reds and oranges as I already have two lipsticks that are red, and I desperately needed an everyday, pink lipstick, or "lip butter" for this occasion.

I decided to go for Strawberry Shortcake (080) which I thought would be a natural, everyday lip colour that I could just wear on it's own and not really think about it too much, if you get me?

First of all the packaging is lovely! I find it very secure, and the lid does not come off that easily, which is good if you are just throwing it in your bag for the day, you do not need to worry about it opening and going everywhere. I love the quilted effect on the lid of the lip butter, it makes it look and feel more expensive.

The actual packaging of the lipstick is also nice, this silver tube with a square bottom seems to be a trend for drugstore lipsticks, as Maybelline's Color Sensational lipsticks also have a similar packaging, which I personally like as you can stand the lipsticks up, making them easy for storage and overall it looks very aesthetically pleasing.

As you can see the colour is just a mid-tone, natural pink, which is good for an everyday purpose. However, when I swatched it on my hand you can see that it comes out a lot lighter than what it looks like in the tube, but it  does has shine and gloss to it and it is not that sticky. It also smells and tastes AMAZING, it is like cake in a tube! (which is appropriate because of the title of the lip butter) So obviously that is a huge added bonus.

On the lips, I was slightly surprised at how light it was at first for some reason, I had an instant buyers regret when I applied it straight after buying it in the shop as I thought it looked baby pink on me, but after wearing it a couple of times, I feel with the right make-up it looks lovely. I have been pairing this lipstick with a champagne/bronzy eye and dusty rose cheeks and it looks very natural.

Overall I really like this product, I'm really glad I bought it and I will definitely be going out to buy some more shades once I have saved up some money! Have you bought any of the lip butters, and if you have, what are your favourites? I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk to you very soon. :)

Collective Haul - Reviews and Swatches!

Guess who got sucked into various offers, for example 3 for 2 on Maybelline?! Oh wait, that was me.. I am such a sucker for good offers! Anyway, the past week I have been shopping a lot, both with my family and on my own, and I have been picking up a lot of make-up for me recently, I feel I have turned a new leaf and am now starting to experiment and step into the make-up world, finally!

The first thing(s) I should mention.. Aren't exactly make-up, but they are nail polishes;

Left; Chica Boom Boom (H&M) (£3)
Centre; Dazzle (Crackle Nails - Tophop) (£5)
Right; Parma Violet (Topshop) (£5)
Chica Boom Boom is actually a bright neon orange, my camera is not giving the colour justice. I've wanted a bright orange nail polish for what seems like a very long time, I don't actually have an orange nail polish at all, and since it's summer I thought why not? I also got a bit of a tan this year (this is surprising yes, I hardly ever get a tan, I am horribly pale) so I feel like the bright neon orange won't look as drastic against my skin.

Dazzle is not actually for me, it is for my friend Leanne, as it is her 18th next week (I know she won't see this so it's fine) and since her favourite colours seem to be purple and gold, when I saw this in Topshop it was like a blessing! It's the most beautiful dark purple, but not super dark, just.. Oh you can see it in the picture! Anyway, it has gold glitter through the purple, which I'm sure she will love!

Parma Violet is again a nail polish for me, and again, I have wanted a violet nail varnish for SO LONG! All the purple nail polishes I have are either super dark or kind of.. Medium tone? Does that even make sense? Probably not.. But when I saw this colour I knew I had to buy it, it just looks the most gorgeous pastel light violet colour I've seen (that was A LOT of words to describe a colour) and it had to be mine. Onto make-up now..

Smokey Eye Palette from Topshop - Tawny. (£12)
I love the fact it comes with a little "how to" booklet; for people who are inexperienced with make-up, it really does help them out. Good job Topshop!
From right to left: The first colour is a pink, champagne colour, it is very shimmery and I would use this as an everyday colour, just to sweep it all over the lid and give my eyes a base/some shimmer. The second colour is a shimmery bronze, which is my personal favourite out of the 4. It looks SO NICE on the lid, you can use this to line your upper lash line and also take it down to the lower lashline and I think it would compliment everyone. The third colour is again a lovely eyeshadow, I love how it is brown but it has gold shimmer throughout it, it looks lovely through the crease and gives your eyes definition. The final dark shimmery brown really makes the eyes smokey, as using this in the outer corner and blending will really make you look sex-aaaay!

So, as you can probably tell.. I got some eyeshadow from Topshop! I got the Smokey Eye Palette in Tawny, and there was another one but it was darker and more grey/purple toned, I'm sure that was called Smouldering. The shadows are quite shimmery which I like, and they all compliment each other beautifully; the reason I got Tawny was because the bronzy colours look nicer to me, and I think they actually will look nicer on me, I feel because I'm pale it will work better? Correct me if I am wrong though! But yes, I love the colours, especially the bronze colour, (the one on my middle finger in the photo.)

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr - 05 Enternal Gold. (£4.99)
Also, congrats to Maybelline on the packaging - I love it! It's so sturdy and looks so fancy and elegant, I love the little glass pot loads!

I saw this yesterday in Superdrug (when I got sucked in with the 3 for 2 offer), and there was only one or two left, and I knew I had to get it; it is the most shimmery, creamy eyeshadow I have ever put on my eyelid (now, I haven't put a lot on so I think this is good, however, other people may think differently). I really do love this colour, I think with a liquid black liner (coming up soon!) and red lips, it will look perfect, it's an easy everyday eyeshadow that you can just whack on, but at the same time you can dress it up too.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner - Black. (£5.99)
I can see why Maybelline called it "Master Precise", with this bad boy of a felt tip, even the shakiest of hands could manage a straight line

What really drew me to this product was, not only did I really need to buy a liquid liner, but the fact that it was a felt tip liner, making it a billion times easier to put on. I even tried it out last night to see if it really did make a difference, and holy moly, my liner was close to perfect first time! I was so impressed with this product, application is easy, and the blackness of the liner is pretty good also, hopefully it doesn't dry up quick or anything, but so far, fingers crossed!

Topshop Kohl Eyeliner - Saddle. (£4)

Ever since watching the beauty girls and guys on YouTube I have desperately wanted a brown eyeliner for so long! Whenever they use one I always think "Holy moly, black eyeliner is so harsh compared to the subtleness of a brown eyeliner, why do I not have one?!" and whilst I was in Topshop a couple of days ago, I saw a brown eyeliner and thought why not? I may as well give it a go! And I LOVE it! It is very build-able, it starts off very subtle, so it would be nice on the waterline but on the top lashes you can build it up so it is an obvious brown line, but still subtle compared to a black eyeliner I think!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick - 422 Coral Tonic. (£7.19)

Again, I loooove the packaging! It is such a classy lipstick, with the shiny see-through red lid and the simple but elegant silver packaging, it makes it look like it's worth more than you paid for - a good quality to have!

The last (but certainly not least) make-up shopping splurge was to this gorgeous coral lipstick by Maybelline. I had been looking for a coral lipstick for a while, as I only have a red lipstick and I was kind of getting bored of wearing the same lipstick over and over again, and although there probably isn't as much difference between the lipsticks as I had originally wanted there to be, it is less bold than the red one and it makes a change, which I like. It is again, build-able, you can put it on lightly but you can certainly build it up to make it as bold as any red lipstick would be.

I also then bought a pair of jeans and a t-shirt from Topshop;

Topshop's Moustache Tee by Tee and Cake - £20
So cute! Aaaaah!
Love the "wrapped up" detail at the sleeves, it just makes the t-shirt for me.
I have been obsessed with moustaches and anything moustachical recently, from necklaces to now a t-shirt! I was actually leaving Topshop after buying the jeans below and continued shopping, but I had to go back and buy it, I couldn't resist! It is such a cute top and you can pair it with anything, from jeans and a blazer (to spruce things up) or wear it casual with a skirt.

Topshop MOTO Super Soft Skinny Leigh Jeans in Indigo - £38
One of the reasons I fell in love with these jeans is this ankle detail, I love this look right now and have been doing this to jeans which don't already have this detail, I think it just instantly changes the style of your outfit and makes it a bit more classy.
Finally.. The jeans! I absolutely adore these jeans and I am so glad I bought them, as you can tell by the title they are seriously SO super soft, which I love. I have been obsessed with jeggings for the past year and have been wearing the same 3 pairs constantly, and they have done their time; one has two holes near the crotch and I cannot let them go! I really wanted a new pair of jeans, but jeans for me are usually not as comfy and they don't stretch as easily as jeggings, but these jeans proved me wrong! They are easy to put on, extremely comfortable, go with anything and everything and are so soft, it's like I am wearing jeggings - good buy!

So after that super long blogpost, I am done! This is everything I bought over the past week, I love it all and I hope you enjoyed reading this (sorry if it was a bit longwinded) but yeah. Have a lovely day and I will talk to you very soon. :)
