Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr in On and on Bronze - Review + Swatches!

Hello everyone! Today I'm here to tell you about one of my everyday products, Maybelline's Color Tattoo in On and on Bronze!

I bought this pretty much a year ago and I took the pictures when I bought it, so the difference now is that it has a big dent in it, however I'm not even half way through! I don't know when the "you need to throw this out now" date is but I'm going to keep using it until there's some indication that it's went dodgy/past it's deadline date! Also, if someone could let me know how to work out when to throw a product out please let me know!

Anyway, Maybelline released the Color Tattoo 24 Hr cream eyeshadows I think at the end of 2011 for the US and sometime in 2012 for UK. They were part of the Eyestudio line with lots of other shades, variating from neutrals to bright, intense colours; there are currently 12 color tattoos for sale in the UK. They claim to wear for 24 hours, now, I don't know who wears their make-up for 24 hours at a time and I don't know who could stand having the same make-up on their face for 24 hours straight.. So who knows if they do, I doubt it very much. Also, they claim to be crease proof and to be extremely pigmented with a smooth gel-cream formula.. Lets see if they live up to the claims!

The packaging is actually quite good for £4.99 - it comes in a little sleek glass pot with a screwable lid; similar to the Mac Paint Pots in this sense. The packaging is lovely for the price, just make sure to keep the lid tightly screwed on to prevent the product drying out or the lid coming off and product going everywhere! It's also small and compact so it's great to store and it's not an awkward shape, again making it easy to store.

This was when I just bought it - now it has a big dent in it (eek!)

In the pot it looks like a bronzy shimmery brown with golden undertones that could easily go over the lid as base or in the crease of your eye, again as a base or just on it's own overall.

As you can see from the top swatch (I have no idea what the other one is, it looks like a concealer.. Ignore the bottom one anyway!) it comes out pretty much as it looks, except for me it was a lot more metallic than I was expecting, however that's not a bad thing, just a little surprise I suppose!

As Maybelline claims, it does come off extremely pigmented, and one dab with your finger can cover one eyelid, so a little goes a long way. It is also very creamy and gel-like and the texture is smooth, making it easy to dab onto your eyelids and blend out with your finger or a brush. Now, I have very oily eyelids as it is so I bought this to use it as a base or on it's own, and as a base for other eyeshadows it works very well, it doesn't make my eyeshadows crease for at least 10 hours, and on it's own I've seen them go 12 hours on my eyes with a little bit of creasing, however it was nothing major - basically it lasts all day!

There is a lot of product in the pot (4g I think) at £4.99 compared to Mac's Paint Pot, at £15 with only 1g more product! Maybelline definitely wins that time Mac!

Overall, this does wear extremely well on the lids, it is very pigmented and a beautiful everyday colour that can be built up to become a smokey metallic eye, easy to apply, blends well with your fingers or a brush and pretty much crease-proof, even with the oiliest of eyelids.. However, saying that, it's not crease-proof for 24 hours, maybe 10-12 max for me due to having insanely oily eyelids, but for people who don't, maybe it'll last longer for you! Basically, for £4.99, this is a high end low end product (if that makes sense!) and if you have been wanting to get one for a while, get one now! Get several! Just buy them all if you want..

That's about it for this review, let me know if you like these kinda posts and I'll keep doing them! I'm not a professional reviewerer of beauty stuff, this is just my personal opinion because if I like a product then I'm going to tell people about it, cause hey, you might like it too! If you have tried any of the Color Tattoos, what did you think, and what's your favourite if you like them? I'm personally eying up Pink Gold and Metallic Pomegranate right now.. Maybe you'll see reviews of them soon!

Anyway, thank you for reading, hope you have a lovely day and don't stop smiling :)

I was nominated for the Liebster Award!

Hello everyone! This is not a typical beauty post today, as a few days ago the lovely LuLu commented on one of my posts saying she had nominated me for the Liebster award, so naturally I was like "sorry, whaaaat?" I then quickly discovered the concept of the award and what it's about and I was honoured that someone would even consider picking me, so thank you LuLu! :)

Basically the award is a tag where someone tags you to be nominated and if you are nominated then you have to answer the 10 questions left for you by that person, then tag another 10 people and leave them 10 questions to answer!

The rules are pretty straight forward:
1. The tagged/nominated blogs must have under 200 followers

2. Tag the blog that nominated you
3. Let the people you tagged know so that they can respond

So it's basically about getting new bloggers or bloggers that aren't well-known out there and expanding the blogging community! :)

The questions left for me:

1.When you bake what is your go to thing to make?

Well, off to a great start here.. I don't really cook, or bake. I'm terrible at anything to do with food. My parents literally banned me from the kitchen cause they were terrified I was going to kill myself accidentally for 17 years and then in my last year at school, they made me take a cooking class.. I must admit, I was pretty good and I got an A (yay!) but I've forgotten it all now.. That being said, I did once make a smashing chocolate cake and my Mum ate the entire thing within 3 days. TRUTH.

2.What is your favourite book?

To be honest I don't read as much as I used too, I was a total book nerd when I was younger and I never had my head out a book, however with the take over of technology and the fact I'm at Uni I never have time for casual reading cause I'm reading Uni stuff! However I will always love the Harry Potter series and it is probably my favourite book series.. Also I am currently trying to get through Pride and Prejudice!

3.What item of clothing are you wearing the most at the moment?

I know it's boring, but probably a oversized, cosy hoody. I've missed wearing them! It's starting to get cold here in Scotland and we strangely had a kinda hot summer, so I was itching to get back into my hoodies and man, it feels good to be home!

4.Cardigans or Jumpers?

Definitely more of a jumper kinda girl, I always find it awkward wearing cardigans, no idea why.

5.Would you rather not wash your hair for 2 weeks or go 2 weeks without wearing any makeup?

Definitely go 2 weeks without wearing make-up.. When I was younger in school I was always the girl that never wore make-up, and tbh I still go loads of days without wearing any, however I always do my hair. Truth is, I'm just lazy and can't be bothered some days to make myself look pretty haha!

6.What is your favourite fast food?

Gotta love some chicken nuggets and chips from McDonalds!

7.City that you would love to live in one day?

It's not a city so to speak, but the only other place that I've been to that feels like home to me is Hout Bay in South Africa, so I would love to retire and move there one day.

8.What are your makeup essentials?

Definitely my Rimmel Stay Matte powder and a mascara (don't really have a favourite right now) but if I was in a rush and was putting make-up on, I'd pick those two things and go!

9.Who is your favourite blogger?

I have to say the person to inspired me to start blogging - the lovely Zoella! However I do have loads more and I'm hoping (once I work out how to do it) to put a little blogroll or blogs I read daily tab thing (if anyone could help me do that, it would be great!) so you'll see more of them soon hopefully. :)

10.If you haven't already would you consider making youtube videos? (If you have a channel what made you start?)

I do have a YouTube channel but I haven't posted in about a year.. I just wasn't feeling it and I feel it was a bit too out of my comfort zone.. However, I do have plans of making YouTube videos again, I'm just not brave enough the now, but I do have plans for the near future, so stay tuned and suscribe if you would like here :)

The people I tag:
My questions for you:

1) What's your favourite quote?

2) What are some of your favourite songs at the moment?

3) What is your top beauty tip?

4) In 5 years time, where do you want to see yourself?

6) If you are running out the door and don't have time to do your usual make-up and only have time to apply 3 things, what would you apply?

7) What's your favourite skincare product?

8) What is your guilty pleasure?

9) What's one weird and random fact about yourself?

10) Finally, why did you start blogging, and what is your favourite part of blogging? :)

So that's about it for this post, I hope you have enjoyed reading it! I know it's not a typical beauty post, but do not worry, tomorrow I have an exciting review for you all so stay tuned! Again thank you to LuLu for nominating me!

Have a lovely day and don't stop smiling. :)

Topshop Gypsy Night - NOTD #4

Hello everyone! Today we are here to talk about this little beauty that I picked up a month ago on a total whim, Gypsy Night by Topshop.

Picture taken on my iPhone 5.

I had never seen this nail polish before and I just spotted it at the corner of my eye, looked at it properly and went yes please *snatch*! What attracted me to this nail polish is how sparkly it is (I'm a total sucker for sparkles) and also how it was a black sparkly nail polish as I never see them! Not only is it just plain black but it has strong undertones of gold, and the sparkles are multi-coloured.. So basically I was sold just by the colour in the bottle.

The packaging is the standard glass bottle with a cute white handle with black dots with the glass clear bottom - I personally love it!

At first when I applied this it was sheer, which I've found with a lot of Topshop's nail polishes but once you put 3 coats on you get to full opacity and let me tell you that this photo does not do this nail polish justice because it is truly beautiful on the nails. The colour is even more stunning out the bottle and I got so many compliments when wearing this! I was majorly impressed with how this nail polish looked as whenever the light hits it it sparkles like there is no tomorrow, and also how long lasting it is - 5 days without a single chip! Yes, that is with a top coat on, but for £6 that is so good! It probably could have went longer if I hadn't taken it off.

Overall I am extremely impressed with this nail polish and overall with the Topshop line, I have 5 or 6 nail polishes from Topshop and they have all pretty much impressed me so far. Gypsy Night is a definite thumbs up from me and I will be wearing this so much over winter. Also, if you are interested in buying it you can get it here.

So that's about it for this blog post, hope you have enjoyed reading. If you have any suggestions of what you want to see on my blog please let me know, and let me know if you have tried any Topshop nail polishes, and if so, what's your favourite?

Hope you have a lovely day and don't stop smiling :)
