Wild Watermelon & Flowers - FOTD & OOTD #6 - 28/07/14

Hello everyone! Today I'm back to give you another FOTD & OOTD. I love both writing and reading these posts, I love looking at what people wear and what make-up they have on and how it differs day to day -  (I hope that doesn't sound weird, I'm just very curious and a little bit nosey  it's just nice to see what products people use and what clothes they wear depending on their style, I always seem to end up wanting something though.. Which isn't good!

ANYWAY.. Last Friday was the day of the Commonwealth Games, and I went to see the 62kg Mens Final in Weightlifting! Now, you are probably all wondering how the day went etc.. But.. That's for another blogpost. Lets just say things were slightly traumatic, very rushed, and very eventful.. But more importantly, here is what my face and outfit looked like last Friday!

List of make-up used:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Sin, Naked & Toasted
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude (05)
Lancome Définicils Mascara
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

I decided to go for a more dramatic eye look, just.. Well, just because I only very recently got my Naked palette and I hadn't tried out Toasted yet, and it. is. BEAUTIFUL. It just gives the most beautiful.. Kinda faded burgundy taupey bronzy shade? Maybe the lipstick made it seem more burgundy but it is beautiful on and it is slowly becoming my everyday eye look. Well. I've wore it twice. That's good enough, right?

Also, I do have quite a lot of the Revlon Lip Butters, and I have to say that Wild Watermelon is definitely up there being my favourite. It looks kinda pinky in the pictures, but it real life it is a lovely shade of red. I feel like if you are starting out and want to try a red lipstick but you are a bit too nervous in case it's full on/not your colour, this would be perfect. The great thing with the Lip Butters is that you can either put them on super sheer, put on a normal wash of colour or make it full on - this is it pretty full on, however when it is just sheer it is so flattering, and not too dramatic!

Outfit:

Top from Topshop
Skirt from Forever 21 (can't find it online, sorry!)
Shoes from Topshop (years old, sorry!)
Bag from Dolce & Gabbana (their website won't open for me to get in and find it, think it's blocked in Azerbaijan..)

I got this skirt when I was on holiday and I am in love with it! It's so bright and colourful and super flattering as it comes in at the waist and then fans out a bit at the legs. Even though it is a little short on me (I am nearly 6ft so it's kinda my fault, not the skirts) it still is very comfortable to wear, and easy to style! Just throw on a t-shirt or tank top, or even a jumper on top and away you go! I got the white t-shirt just because, well, I didn't have one, and it's kinda an essential thing, as a white t-shirt goes with everything! The shoes are the ones I mentioned in my last post = very worn & very loved. Finally.. My bag. All I'm saying is, what a beaut. What. A. Beaut.

So that's going to be it for this post, I hope you enjoyed reading! Be sure and stay tuned as tomorrow at 5pm comes my adventurous tale of how I got on at the Commonwealth Games on the day these photos were taken.. It was a literal emotional roller coaster. Just in general, a roller coaster. Everything was up and down. But I'll explain that tomorrow, it's 1am here (I'm on holiday, expect the start of the holiday posts soon - sorry I'm behind!) and I need to sleep.. And my wrists are sore from all the typing. oKAY GOING NOW BYE.

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Curls & Stripes - FOTD & OOTD #5 - 24/07/14

Hello everyone! I apologise for not posting much this week, turns out.. I'm in another country! Yes, I'm out visiting my Dad at his work with my Mum and we landed yesterday. At 4am. I didn't get to sleep until 6.30am (which is 2.30am UK time so it's not thaaat bad.. But when the sun is rising and you are just going to bed, that's when it gets bad.) I've also just been out all day every day since last Thursday, what with seeing my friends, going to the Commonwealth Games (post coming soon!), my cousins 21st and 2 flights! So yeah, you can say I've been busy..

ANYWAY! I've got a FOTD & OOTD every day so far since last Thursday (27/07/14 - so this post is the start, wayhay!) so expect a lot of them coming soon.

Jeez, that's a lot of selfies! Well, for me anyway that's a lot, but I couldn't decide which were the best.. So why not just use them all?

List of make-up used:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Sin and Naked
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon
Lancome Définicils Mascara
Mac Lipstick in Peach Blossom

Yes, that is a lot of expensive make-up on my face.. I recently went to Florida and whilst there went a bit mental with Mac and Urban Decay.. I've also wanted the Naked palette (or, just one of them) for a long time and I couldn't decide which, but since I usually wear bronzy shades on my eyes, it makes sense to go for the bronzy palette.. Aka the Naked Palette! I want to do blog posts on all the make-up mentioned above as.. Spoilers.. I love them all dearly!

Anyway, it was super warm last Thursday and since I was going to Glasgow to see my Uni gals, I thought I should try and make a bit of effort.. Without sweating everything off (successfully, everything stayed in place!) However, even though I spent a good 15 minutes curling my hair using a random BaByliss curling wand (which is amazing by the way, it was like £25 from Boots = bargain!), it soon was put up into a ponytail. Goddamn warm weather making my hair explode like I've just been electrocuted!

Outfit:

Dress by H&M (can't find it online, sorry!)
Sandals by Topshop (super old, probably won't find them anywhere, sorry!)
Bag by The Cambridge Satchel Company (custom made, link here to their website)

Could you tell I was feeling.. Red that day? I feel like that was meant to be a cheesy funny obvious joke but it kinda backfired .. *slowly retreats back into the corner of the internet*

As I was saying.. It was super warm that day so a dress and sandals were needed. As for the bag, brown goes with everything, and it was an 18th birthday present from my Uncle which I love dearly and hardly use, so I thought it was time to bring it out again to see the light of day. The sandals are also super old and needing to be retired, as they are just very worn out and kinda falling apart, and every time I wear them, my feet are so dirty by the end of the day as they are so low to the ground. But I love them.. It's kinda a love hate relationship.

You may ask, what did I do that day? Well, I attempted to shop with my friend whilst talking about our life problems but really we were just trying to stay cool in shops, I started getting hangry as the lack of food was slowly making me want to punch everyone, we met up with our other friend, went to the pub, had burgers, had drinks, tried a pub quiz, made our friend go up and play musical statues to win us some extra points, WE WON A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAIGN AND 3 EXTRA POINTS, came 6th and we all went home merry and obviously mentally exhausted.

And that my friends, was my (last) Thursday! Hope you enjoyed reading this post, expect more very soon of the next few days, including the Commonwealth Games, more FOTDs, and a day by day photo diary of my holiday!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Essie Bikini So Teeny & OPI In True Stefani Fashion - NOTD #10

Hello everyone! Today I'm here to talk about one of my guilty pleasures - nail polish! I've just realised while writing this and looking at my nails that this look isn't very summery, it's more wintery in my opinion.. And then I made the connection. I very recently FINALLY watched Frozen - which blew my mind on so many levels, it's one of my favourite films already - and I've realised that these nails are very Elsa-esque. So if you love Frozen, then you'll love these accidentally inspired nails!

I bought both these nail polishes whilst in Florida (post coming soon) last week and I just adore them. I'm an avid fan of sparkles as it is, but I'm surprised I love Bikini So Teeny as much as I do.

I've never really been a fan of light blue nail varnishes as I feel they make my hands look totally washed out and just a bit gross.. However this colour is an exception. It's not light enough to make my hands look really "cold" and white, and it's a pastel shade, which isn't overly bright and in your face.

This polish is opaque in two coats, which is what I expect out of an Essie nail polish to be honest, and it lasts a long time with few-to-no chips. To prove this, these pictures were taken 5 days after I painted them on (is painted the right word? I can't think of another one but it seems weird.. Like I'm painting a wall or something) and even though they show slight signs of wear and tear.. They look great!

Now.. I don't feel like I need to ramble on about how much I love OPI In True Stefani Fashion. It's an all round smashing sparkly top coat, that stays put and will look lovely over any colour. How can you complain?

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and I will be back soon!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

10 months

....

I did that thing again didn't I? The thing I said I wouldn't do..

The thing where I disappear because Uni work destroys every aspect of my life and then I'm exhausted and don't want to write anymore then I suddenly have so much free time and I miss blogging and I come back.

Yeah. That thing.

Am I still allowed to say hi? Will you all forgive me? I hope so..

So yes. I've been away, I completed my second year of University and passed all my exams with distinction (the highest pass you can get basically - WOOPWOOP!)

This is basically just a little hi, remember me, that 19 year old- OH YEAH I TURNED 19 I FORGOT I WAS GONE THEN OOPS. Yes, I'm now 19, well now 19 and a half but yeah. Kinda becoming an adult. Slowly. Very. Very. Slowly.

But yes, if you remember me and still want to read my blog - which I hope you do because this is the OFFICIAL RELAUNCH OF BLOGTHISWITHHANNAH/HAPPINESSDWELLSINTHESOUL (it sounds so fancy saying relaunch) - yes I have decided to start doing posts again, I can't promise it will be consistent, especially when Uni starts again in third year.. But hopefully I'll have worked out some sort of routine by then. I hope.

I really like blogging, it's very relaxing just to write things down that come to me. For example, I randomly decided to look on Blogger as I'd been avoiding it for a couple of weeks - the guilt from not blogging was real. But when I saw the button to make a new post, I couldn't resist.

So basically, this long rambly post was just to say - Hi, I'm back. Expect to see more of me very soon. Like later on tomorrow soon. SOON. OKAY?

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

P.s. I redesigned my blog and changed the colours and stuff a bit - do you like? Let me know :)
