Flick - Night Out Look #8 - 24/09/14

Hello everyone! Today I'm back with another night out look, this one surprisingly isn't too drastic on the eyeshadow front or the outfit front (which is why I didn't show you) as I was only going out for a family dinner. To be honest, when I found out I was going out for a family dinner like an hour before we were meant to leave I was in my jammies with my hair up and a bare face.. Unprepared was an understatement!

Make-up:

bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer
bareMinerals Original SPF15 Foundation in Fair
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 01
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr in Metallic Pomegranate
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Toasted and Hustle
L'oreal Superliner Black Lacquer
Lancome Definicils Mascara
Mac Peach Blossom Lipstick

As I said above, I was completely unprepared and to be honest I had no idea what I was going to do with my make-up. Luckily my hair was already in a plait so I could just take it out and it would look fine! I've recently rediscovered my bareMinerals foundation and I'm loving it a lot more now than when I first bought it - my skin is so silky when it's on and it has a really light coverage but still balances out my skin tone, which is all I want really.

I decided just to go for my trusty Urban Decay look of Toasted and a little bit of Hustle in the crease. However, instead of using my Urban Decay Primer Potion (which is the best primer ever) I decided to try my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate again as I've tried it before and didn't really like it.. I still didn't like it this time. It just doesn't seem to glide onto my lid and goes really patchy when I apply it, I'm going to keep trying it but for now, it's just not my thing.

If I'm being very honest with you, my eyeliner is pretty fantastic and spot on in my opinion, and it was a complete fluke. I had put liquid eyeliner to the back of my drawer for months and for some reason I decided to bring it back out - it was a good decision in hindsight! When applying it, I didn't mean it to flick out that much on my first eye and it came out perfect.. It took over 5 attempts to make it look sort of the same on the other eye, I was genuinely getting super stressed over it!

Saying that, tis is definitely a look I'll be recreating a lot more now, I forgot how much I loved liquid liner and flicking out eyeliner in general. I feel like this whole post is me rediscovering products! What have you rediscovered recently?

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Night Out Look #7 - Printin' Paisley - 14/09/14

Hello everyone! Happy October, hope September was good to you :) Today I'm back with another Night Out Look for you all. Today's look was more about the outfit than it was the face - on the 13th September (the day before this) I was out in Edinburgh with my friends and then my friend and I had to get two long trains home, to then go out again for a 21st. So by this time, I was practically throwing on the make-up without a care and smothering my hair with dry shampoo. Turned out okay though, don't you think?

Make-up:

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light
Mac Blush in Buff
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden
Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette & Urban Decay Naked Palette in Toasted and HustleL'Oréal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer
Lancôme Définicils Mascara

Again, my trusty 107 lipstick came into play. I've been wearing it so much recently, it just gives me a huge boost of confidence whenever I wear it and it draws so much attention to the lips that I hope people don't see the mess that is everything else. True fact. I also rediscovered liquid eyeliner, I haven't worn any in months so it is a bit dodgy looking, but it's definitely something I want to continue wearing into the winter.. I just want to wear it a bit better than that.

Playsuit - Boohoo
Shoes - Converse

I apologise yet again for the weirdly angled/slightly blurry pictures, these photos were taken in a rush before I ran out the door and I didn't take a second look at them.. So now I'm awkwardly cringing sitting in my kitchen writing this. The pictures honestly don't do this playsuit justice, it is SO PRETTY and the pattern/detailing is beautiful, I adore the Paisley print and this just screams Autumn to me. I even got a compliment off my Dad, that's when you know something is good!

I love also that it has 3/4 sleeves, I don't always like having my arms out as I'm quite self-conscious about them so having them covered for me is always a bonus. This playsuit fits like a glove and is super comfy to wear, I'm definitely going to be wearing this into the winter with thick wooly tights, boots and a jumper over it! I also paired this playsuit with black tights, my trusty black hi-top converse and a Topshop black leather jacket which I haven't taken a photo of.

That's about it for this post, hope you enjoyed reading it! What are you going to be wearing this Autumn? Please let me know!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Night Out Look #5 - A Burst of Teal - 10/08/14

Hello everyone! Today I'm back with another Night Out Look - oooooh like what I've called this mini series thing? I decided since it's technically not a day look, and I'm going out.. At night.. It should have a more appropriate name. So there we go. Anyway, it was just a typical night out with my friends, you know, to the pub for pre drinks then to a club for more drinks and dancing etc etc.. Surprisingly didn't wake up hungover though (I am genuinely surprised, I texted my boyfriend at 4am saying "oh nooooo I don't want to be hungover :(") So yeah, now that that's out the way.. Cue pictures of my face!

Make-up:

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light
Maybelline Expert Wear Blush in 62 Rosewood
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR Eyeshadow in Metallic Pomegranate
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Toasted & Hustle
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon
Lancôme Définicils Mascara
Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 (with vaseline underneath to make it more glossy)

Yes, oh ehm gee, I'm actually wearing something on my face. Usually I just go for eyes and lips but I have recently been to Boots (haul coming soon) and picked up a few things in some 3 for 2 offers.. Which I will review for you all once I've used them all a few times and got a solid opinion of them (*AHEM* the bb cream, colour tattoo and blush *AHEM*). Since it was a night out I went for a smokey eye, as it is my go to look.. Especially with Toasted and Hustle from the Naked Palette, they are my favourites! You also can't beat a bit of the 107 lipstick, it's simply a beaut.

Outfit:

Top - H&M (sale)
Shorts - Topshop (sale)

I'd like to apologise for the horrifically bad photos on the outfit front - I was in a rush! Both items were in the sale so I don't think you'll be able to find them, sorry :( I've worn this top out before and what I like about it is that it isn't just a plain black tank top, it is actually sheer from your shoulders down to just about the boobage area and it has a little opening at the back - I just think it is so simple but at the same time these little details add to it and make it lovely to wear.

As for the shorts, I actually bought these the other day (again haul coming soon) and originally I thought it was a skirt, however I really do love them - they are super comfy to wear, I love how they are tight at the waist and then fan out and become baggy at the thighs and they are plaited (another cute detail), and obviously - they are bright teal, what is there not to love?! I also wore my black hi top converse with these, I just never took photos :)

Anyway, that's that for this post. I hope you enjoyed reading! What's your go to night out look, whether it be make-up or your outfit?

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Night Out Look #4 - 21st Par-tay - 29/07/14

Hello everyone! Today I'm back with yet another FOTD & OOTD, this time before my cousin's 21st birthday party! It was at our local restaurant/bar/nightclub (yes it is all three) and she rented out a private bar for us all which is so modern and sophisticated, however I never got many photos as it is also very small, which meant that when I did try and take photos, people thought I was taking photos of them.. Which was a bit awkward. So safe to say, I quickly stopped looking like a stalker and avoided them for the rest of the night. Unfortunately I was in a bit of a rush and couldn't really take any good photos beforehand so this is all I have, I really loved what I wore so I thought I'd show you guys!

List of make-up used:

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Toasted and Hustle
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon
Lancome Définicils Mascara
Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo

Can you see a trend in the make-up I use? Yes, I do use the same make-up pretty much everyday. I'm the type of person where if I find something I like, I'll stick with it until I get bored of it. I've used Mac Paint Pot Painterly and the Lancome Définicils Mascara both for at least 6 months now and I still really love them, they just work really well with me (blogpost on both coming up.. at some point) and I've only recently purchased the Naked Palette, Bourbon and Ruby Woo so I'm definitely still in the honeymoon stage with them. What I'm trying to say is, I love them.

Anyway, since it was a 21st party I wanted to go bold, so I went for a bronzy smokey eye and matte red lips, which is pretty much my go-to, classic night time look.

 Outfit:

Jumpsuit from Abercrombie & Fitch
Bracelet from Tiffany & Co
Wedges from TOMS

Even though I did go bold on the make-up, I did also choose a really heavily patterned outfit as well, which I just l-o-v-e. This was the first time wearing that jumpsuit, and it was super comfy and flattering on, as it comes in at the hips and is a lovely silky material. It also only has tiny straps, which I think looks really flattering, as for some reason I find showing off your shoulders really nice? I don't know, it's just something you never see and when you do, I just think it really adds something nice to an outfit. It also has pockets, which is a winner itself!

As for the shoes, I'm normally nearly 6ft without shoes on, so with these wedges I can confidently tell you.. I was the tallest person there. However, they are comfy and easy to walk in and I also love the print on them, I just feel like they will go with anything!

So that's it for this post, I hope you enjoyed reading it. What have you guys been up too recently? I feel like I'm telling you so much about what I've been doing.. So I feel it's only fair for you to do the same back!

Have a lovely day, and don't stop smiling. :)

Night Out Look #3 - Daisy Sailor - 17/09/13

Hello everyone! I'm back with another Night Out look, I swear I'm not an alcoholic, I was just squeezing some nights out in while I could as I'm now back at Uni!

Anyway for once I thought I'd actually take pictures of the make-up products I used to create, well, my face.. However on the night I actually didn't wear face primer, foundation, or the Revlon lipstick so just ignore those. I was planning on wearing some but I asked my boyfriend what he thought and showed him and he said he preferred without foundation, so I went without! Also I haven't worn any properly in like.. over 6 months? So who knows if it even matches my skin tone now!

Apologises about the messy brushes, I'm not very neat.. They are well loved though!

List of make-up:
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation in Believe in Me Ivory
Mac Powder Blush in Buff
Soap and Glory Lid Stuff Eyeshadow in Whats Nude
MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Undressed
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 012 Bronze
No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara in Black
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Candy Apple
Avon Lipstick in Smitten Red
Vaseline (how extravagant)

Brushes I used:
Real Techniques Starter Set 1406
Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo Libre Set

I knew I was going to wear the playsuit with a red belt (as seen below) so I was like "well I have to wear a red lip now to match it up now don't I?!" I used to think that my Revlon Lip Butter was my favourite red lip but mine has went really dodgy and I might do a review as some other shades of mine have done the same and it's so annoying.. Anyway! Now that I got my Avon lipstick free in a magazine I've never looked back, it's just gorgeous and I'm so pleased I got it for £4 (magazine was £4, lipstick was free. BARGAIN ALERT.)

I went for my staple brown matte smokey eye (Soap and Glory palette for the matte part) with dark brown/gold shimmer in the outer corners (MUA palette for the shimmer part) and black winged eyeliner as I just think it looks gorgeous no matter what you are wearing.

I also got my hair cut the day I took these photos so that's why it looks so shiny and healthy and lovely - why can't it always look like this?!

Taken on my iPhone 5, not my camera like the first 3 photos.

As for my outfit, I wore this playsuit that I got from River Island years ago, along with my staple black leather jacket from Topshop, black high top Converse and a little black shoulder bag. I just really love the print of this playsuit and I love anything with daises on it so obviously when I saw this I was like "yep okay buying this now thank you very much!" It's also just a great piece to dress up or down and I've wore this to Uni as well with an over-sized cardigan, thick tights, a scarf and the same jacket and shoes and it was great!

So that's about it for this post, I love doing these kinda FOTE/OOTE posts, they are just so fun to read and equally so fun to create! What's your staple eye look for a night out?

Have a lovely and and don't stop smiling. :)

Night Out Look #2 - Contrast - 24/08/13

Hello everyone! I'm back with another night out look, as a couple of weeks ago I was out both the Saturday and the Sunday, so this is the Saturday look!

Picture taken on iPhone 5.
I didn't really have a look for this night, I just kinda went with it and this was created! I knew that I wanted to use this bright-yet-subtle lipstick (does that make sense?) as I haven't really worn it much and since I hardly wear make-up on a daily basis, I always like to do smokey on night outs or special occasions. I also went for black thick winged eyeliner, which is a classic for me for dark smokey eyes. I also thought wearing dark lipstick, dark eyes and a dark top would make my light skirt look odd so I thought a bright(ish) pink lip would look better.

Pictures taken on iPhone 5. Edited on Instagram with the effect Valencia.
List of make-up:
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr in 35 On and On Bronze
Topshop Smokey Eye Palette in Tawny (used all colours)
MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Heaven and Earth (used the dark brown shimmery colours)
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette in Palette de Fard à Paupsères (used Twice Baked and Oil Slick)
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer
Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in 012 Bronze and 005 Nude
Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara
Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 063 Eastend Snob
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 16

Picture taken on iPhone 5.For my outfit I wanted to change things up a bit, so I decided to go for a skirt and top, as I honestly never wear skirts and I bought this one months ago here (I'm a size 12, and I'm 5 ft 10 in case you want to buy it) so I was like I must wear this now! I paired this mocha skirt with a black top from H&M that I got in the sale, which is sheer above the chest area and it's the same at the back, and then it's thick material from there down, which I think adds a subtle touch to the top yet still makes it very simple and versatile for different outfits. I then wore the same black heels from a couple of posts ago that I got from Dorothy Perkins ages ago.
So that's about it for this blog post, I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you want me to review any of the products mentioned in more detail please let me know! Also, when you go out, what are your staple make-up items?

I hope you have a lovely day and don't stop smiling :)

Night Out Look #1 - Burgundy Glam - 25/08/13

Hi everyone! Long time no see, to be honest I forgot to blog due to being so busy! The last time I blogged was in April when I was just starting to study for my final University exams (which I passed with merit!!) and then I was on holiday twice this summer (to New York and Azerbaijan - will do separate blog posts of pictures soon) so now I'm back :) I don't know what my schedule will be but I know I want to blog as I honestly miss it, I still read new blogs every day and have done even though I haven't been posting, so I decided I want to post at least a couple of posts a week, I should manage that when I'm at University too, as I go back on the 23rd of September and have a couple of days off a week to catch up on my work.

Anyway, I'll do a proper catch up blog post soon, but for now I'm going to show you my make-up and outfit from a night out last week! Also, these photos were taken from my iPhone 5 so sorry they are not the best quality, will take photos from my proper camera from now on (or when I can).

As you can see I went quite dark for this night out as on a regular basis I don't wear a lot of make-up and I usually go for very subtle looks, so I thought why not? Sometimes dressing up and wearing a lot of make-up is a good thing, and this look really boosted my confidence for the night!

List of make-up:
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hr in 35 On and on Bronze
Soap & Glory Lid Stuff in What's Nude (used all 4 shades - absolutely love this palette!)
MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Heaven and Earth (only used the dark shimmery browns)
Urban Decay Palette de Fard a Paupiéres (only used Twice Baked - a dark shimmery brown)
L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 012 Bronze and 005 Nude
Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara
Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 024 Red Diva
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107

This burgundy dress (I'm a size 12 in this dress and I'm 5 ft 11 just in case you want to buy it and don't know what size you are) is from boohoo.com and I think it was £12, which is a bargain! I love this website so much and I don't have a bad thing to say about it, the clothes are lovely and they have so much choice. I paired my dress with black heels from Dorothy Perkins, and I kept the accessories to a minimal, only wearing a simple gold necklace (Forever 21) that you can see in the first two photos, as my make-up was so bold that I wanted everything else to be very subtle and simple. I also curled my hair as my dress is very tight and simple, so I thought curled hair would look better than straight hair.

I think that's everything for this blog post, I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you have any suggestions on what you want to see or if you want any reviews of the products I used to create this look then let me know. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

Hannah :) xxx
